United Kingdom -- 24-year-old retail assistant Mike Amess is petrified of the Kardashian family to the extent where he breaks out in a cold sweat whenever he sees or hears them. The sight of Kim Kardashian makes him cry or even vomit in disgust.
The Kardashians is an American family of media personalities. Kim Kardashian, 33, is a fashion designer, model, and actress currently engaged to rapper and designer Kanye West. She rose to fame after a sex tape she made with her then-boyfriend leaked in 2007.
Mike Amess was raised in a conservative Catholic family and had to repress his sexuality. When he was 17, he watched Kim Kardashian's sex tape. However, the sound of Kim's voice and her large behind only made him extremely upset.
Since then, he says, he has come to terms with his homosexuality, but his phobia has grown only worse, now extending to the whole Kardashian family.
Not only the phobia spoils his leisure time, as he has to avoid any TV show or a magazine where the family is mentioned, but it has also had disastrous effects on his love life. Mike says he was forced to break up with a former boyfriend who was a fan of the Kardashians
Despite the daily afflictions of his phobia, Mike has never sought medical help as he is embarrassed of his condition.
Mike says he is constantly mocked by his friends who think his phobia is amusing.
