REVEALED: Arsene Wenger's Replacements At Arsenal

In the aftermath of the 6-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge on Saturday the pressure on Arsene Wenger has been cranked up another level, but who would replace the Frenchman if he were to leave?

Having been beaten badly by Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City as well as being in a nine year trophy drought added to the fact his contract is up in the summer it isn’t unfeasible that Wenger could leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

As seen with David Moyes taking on from Sir Alex Ferguson it is not easy for a new manager to replicate their predecessors legacy, so who would be the candidates to take the hot seat at the Emirates?
Jurgen Klopp:
Klopp has done a fantastic job with Dortmund in his six seasons at the helm with the pinnacle being reaching last season’s Champions League final, as well as winning two Bundesliga titles back-to-back in 2011 and 2012. However, the wheels have fallen off for Dortmund this season with injuries to a number of key players on top ofthe loss of Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich. So could now be the right time for Klopp to set out on a new venture and build from the foundations Wenger has built and take Arsenal back to their counter-attacking best?
Frank de Boer:
De Boer’s name has been linked with both Tottenham and Liverpool in recent seasons, but could he in fact be the perfect fit for Arsenal? With ex-Gunners Dennis Bergkamp and Marc Overmars working alongside him at Ajax, combined with a playing philosophy similar to the one Wenger has instilled at Arsenal the Dutchman may find a move to North London seamless. At Ajax, despite the vision and ambition of Johan Cruyff, it seems there is only a certain amount De Boer can achieve at the Amsterdam Arena and as one of Europe’s best up and coming coaches could he be take Arsenal back to the top of English football much like he has with Ajax in Holland?
Roberto Martinez:
There had been reports doing the rounds even prior to Saturday’s mauling at Stamford Bridge that Martinez had been picked by Wenger as the man he believes should replace him, much like Sir Alex Ferguson had done with Everton’s previous manager. Since moving to Goodison in the summer Martinez has brought a breath of fresh air to the club and has shown he is able to carry on from the legacy left behind by the previous manager and is not going to try and change things too quickly, but will add his own touch. Playing a similar style of play to that that suits him Arsenal could be a good move for the Spaniard and having won last season’s FA Cup with Wigan has shown not only does he have the hunger to succeed but the ability too.
